Taipei, Aug. 23 (CNA) Taiwan has clinched a berth in the final of the 2025 U-15 Asian Baseball Championship after defeating Japan 10-7 in Tainan on Friday.

The two teams will meet again in the final at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, with both having already secured spots in the 2026 U-15 World Baseball Championship.

Taiwan, Japan, and South Korea all finished the four-team super round with 2-1 records, while the Philippines lost all three of its games. Taiwan and Japan advanced to the final on the basis of a better Team Quality Balance (TQB).

TQB is a tie-breaking statistic that reflects a team's run differential, adjusted for the number of innings it plays on offense and defense.

Taiwan has won a tournament-record seven U-15 Asian championships and has reached the final in every edition of the event since it was first held in 2000. It will seek to claim back-to-back titles on Saturday, while Japan will be vying for its fourth championship.
