Three students from the Department of Interior Design at Asia University have won top prizes at the 2025 Architecture MasterPrize Awards, showcasing the university’s strong presence on the global design stage. The award recipients are Chen Yu-han, Hsu Rui-en, and Lin Chun-yi.

Tsun-Hsiung Yao, Dean of the College of Creative Design, praised the university’s outstanding performance in international design competitions over the past decade. He noted that Asia University has consistently provided strong support, encouraging students to participate in global art showcases and gain valuable international recognition.

Chen Yu-han received the prestigious Best of Best Award for her project “Blended Green Haven,” which embodies a modern minimalist aesthetic while exploring the symbiotic relationship between nature and humanity. In addition, her work “Tao” was honored with the Winner Award, offering an immersive spatial experience inspired by the traditional pottery-making process.

Hsu Rui-en was awarded the Winner Award for “Bathing in the City Breeze.” His design seamlessly integrates outdoor water features into interior spaces while incorporating sustainable, green building strategies to enhance environmental harmony.

Also receiving the Winner Award, Lin Chun-yi was recognized for “Warm Horizon.” Beginning with expressive curves, the design emphasizes soft, fluid qualities combined with geometric structures, creating a balanced and inviting spatial composition.

Design project advisors Liu Shi-yuan and Wang Chih-hua stated that the students’ design works submitted to international competitions were developed through the design thinking methods and professional training cultivated through the interior design curriculum. Through this process, students continuously refine their professional design capabilities and further integrate design with the surrounding environment and humanistic context in practical applications.

Head of Department Shih Sheng-cheng noted that the department has long actively supported and encouraged students to participate in international design competitions through a well-structured curriculum. By fostering peer exchange, students continuously enhance their design skills and accumulate valuable award-winning experience in international competitions, which provides far-reaching benefits for their future academic advancement and career development.
