Taichung, Nov. 21 (CNA) The Taichung City government said Friday it would fine two internet personalities who live streamed an appearance at a junior high school, despite being denied permission to film.

Authorities are working to remove video filmed at a junior high school in Taichung by Wang Yuan-chao (王元照), known as Magic Caller (可樂) on TikTok, and Chiang Chien-hua (江建樺), known as Bing Bing Bro (賓賓哥), from the internet, Taichung Mayor Lu Shiow-yen (盧秀燕) said.

According to the school, staff had clearly communicated to Wang before that no live streaming would be permitted. Despite this, Chiang started a live stream after taking the stage as Wang's "surprise guest."

During the stream, Wang made a lewd joke while Chiang promoted his company's merchandise and encouraged students to verbally endorse him.

The school's principal then took to the stage and told them to stop, citing a lack of authorization to film.

Taichung Social Affairs Bureau Director Liao Ching-chih (廖靜芝) said that, upon reviewing video footage of the event provided by the school, a NT$100,000 (US$3,182) fine was issued to Wang for violating the Child and Juvenile Welfare and Rights Protection Act with his joke.

Chiang, meanwhile, will receive fines totaling NT$130,000 for both filming and uploading the footage without permission, Liao said.
