Ministry launches donation drive for Typhoon Danas relief

Taipei, July 21 (CNA) The Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW) on Monday launched a dedicated account to receive private donations for Typhoon Danas disaster relief.

According to the ministry's news release, people can donate via the following channels:

1. Money transfer

Domestic donations:

Click on the "Donation" button, and choose the "2025 Typhoon Danas Fundraising Program" -- look for 114年丹娜絲風災募款專案.

3. Major convenience store chains

To donate, select "2025 Typhoon Danas Fundraising Program" on a 7-Eleven iBon, FamilyMart FamiPort, Hi-Life Life-ET, or OKmart OK.go machine. Follow the prompts to enter your details and donation amount, print the payment slip and pay at the counter.

The account will be open until Aug. 20, said the MOHW.

The ministry said donations will support disaster relief, emergency medical aid, shelter and resettlement, and post-disaster recovery.

Typhoon Danas made landfall in Chiayi County's Budai Township on July 6 before weakening to a tropical storm the next day. It heavily impacted central and southern Taiwan, causing power outages, water supply disruptions, property damage and flooding.
