Taiwan diplomat narrowly escapes being taken hostage (updated)

An official with Taiwan's embassy in Guatemala was taken hostage at gunpoint Monday in the country's capital but managed to escape after drawing out the situation and getting help from local police, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA).
