Taipei, Jan. 9 (CNA) Crowd controls will be implemented for visitors to the Wuling Farm area in central Taiwan during cherry blossom season from Feb. 7-27, according to a statement issued by the Directorate General of Highways (DHG) Wednesday.

The number of visitors allowed to enter the area during that period will be capped at 6,000 per day, which includes 1,800 spending the night and 4,200 day-time visitors, the DHG said.

The 4,200 day-time visitors will be further divided into 1,000 who are part of tour groups and 3,200 individual visitors who use public transportation, the DHG added.

Meanwhile, the Taiwan Cherry, one of the species of cherry tree at the farm has already started blooming, about one month earlier than last year, with about 70 percent already in full bloom.

Other species of cherry trees at the farm include the Oshima cherry, Yaezakura and Wusheh cherry, which account for more than 30,000 cherry trees in the area.
