Taipei, Dec. 27 (CNA) Malaysian-Chinese singer and songwriter Penny Tai married her Taiwanese fiancé Sidney Lu on Saturday in Taipei after five years of dating.

The 36-year-old singer wore a white gown to greet the media before her wedding at Songshan Cultural and Creative Park. The groom wore a black suit.

The couple said they may spend their honeymoon in the United States, but have yet to confirm the arrangements.

The wedding banquet, titled "PS. I Love You," served western-style food.

Some 300 guests were invited to the wedding, which was not open to the media. Four other Malaysian Chinese singers -- Angelica Lee, Fish Leong, Michael Wong and Victor Wong -- were expected to be among the guests.

Tai, who released her first album "Penny" in 2000, won the Best Mandarin Female Singer title for her album "Unexpected" at the Golden Melody Awards in June.

She is noted for her sonorous vocals and songwriting skills.
