Tsai Ing-wen visits Europe to promote Taiwan’s democratic values

Former President Tsai Ing-wen embarked on a trip to Europe on May 9, marking her second visit to the continent since leaving office last May. As of Saturday (London time) , she had visited three countries -- Lithuania, Denmark, and the United Kingdom -- where she delivered speeches, met with political leaders, and emphasized Taiwan’s commitment to defending democracy.\n\nWhile Tsai is scheduled to visit her alma mater, the London School of Economics and Political Science, on Saturday evening, her office has not offered any details on the rest of her itinerary or when she will return to Taiwan.
