
Taipei, April 14 (CNA) A magnitude 4.4 earthquake struck off Yilan County in northeastern Taiwan at 1:58 p.m. Monday, according to the Central Weather Administration (CWA).
There were no immediate reports of damage following the quake.
The epicenter of the temblor was located 38.2 kilometers south-southeast of Yilan County Hall at a depth of 48 km, CWA data showed.
The intensity of the quake, which gauges the actual effect of a seismic event, measured 3 on Taiwan's 7-tier intensity scale in some areas of Yilan and Hualien counties, according to the CWA.
The quake also measured an intensity of 2 in the mountainous area of Taichung, the CWA said.
