Health minister pledges to ensure pork imports are safe

Taipei, April 3 (CNA) Health Minister Chen Shih-chung (陳時中) said Monday that it was not up to him whether or not to lift a ban on imports of American pork containing ractopamine but that he was responsible for ensuring that food is safe for consumers.
