Majority of Taiwanese support status quo with China: poll

A government survey released on Thursday showed that 70 percent of adults in Taiwan favor the status quoacross the Taiwan Strait, while a little over 70 percent thinkthat Taiwan's freedom and democracy will have a positiveinfluence on China as the two sides continue to have exchanges.
