The tropical island of Liuqiu off in southern Taiwan is a well-known marine tourism destination that used to draw hundreds of thousands of visitors all year round prior to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, but one of its main attractions, its coastal coral, is now at risk of extinction.
