Search continues for Indonesian fisherman lost at sea

Taipei, June 25 (CNA) A search and rescue mission was continuing Tuesday for an Indonesian fisherman who fell overboard from a Taiwanese fishing vessel while operating in waters off Penghu, according to the coast guard.

The Sheng Chang Jung issued a distress call after midnight that one of its foreign crew members had fallen overboard, Penghu coast guard officials said.

The incident occurred 18 nautical miles off the northwest coast of Penghu's Jibei Islet, they said.

The coast guard said a helicopter search and two rescue boats were deployed to look for the missing man.

As of press time, the crewman had yet to be located.
