Protesters to decide whether to end occupation of legislature

2014/04/06 13:12:41

Taipei, April 6 (CNA) A leader of the protesters who have occupied the Legislative Yuan since March 18 said Sunday that they will decide whether to leave the Legislature later today.

Lin Fei-fan made the statement after Legislative Speaker Wang Jin-pyng visited the students and prodded them to quit their protest, after promising to enact a law to regulate pacts with China, before resuming the process of deliberating Taiwan's trade-in-services pact with Beijing.

Lin said he appreciates the speaker's kindly response to their requests, but must discuss with the protesters on whether to agree to his request and end the occupation.

Lin said the protesters will announce their decision later today.
