Taipei, July 25 (CNA) The visa-exemption privileges granted by the government of Bosnia-Herzegovina to Taiwanese passport holders has taken effect, Taiwan's foreign ministry said Wednesday.
Under the visa-free agreement that became effective Tuesday, Taiwanese passport holders can now stay in the Balkan state for up to 90 days within a six-month period without a visa, the ministry said in statement.
The new visa waiver arrangement, which was decided in June, is expected to further promote bilateral exchanges in areas such as trade, culture and technology, according to the ministry.
Located in the southeast Europe, Bosnia-Herzegovina has abundant tourism resources and is a popular destination for skiing and eco-tourism, according to the ministry. It is the 128th country or region to grant Taiwanese citizens visa-free entry or landing visa privileges.
