Los Angeles, Dec. 22 (CNA) A Taiwanese badminton men's duo is heading toward the final of the 2017 Yonex/K&D Graphics International Challenge in California after defeating their U.S. opponents in the semi finals on Friday.

Taiwanese brothers Lu Chia-hung (呂家弘) and Lu Chia-pin (呂家彬) made it into the final of the international competition in Orange County, California after defeating U.S. duo Mark Shelley Alcala and Phillips Jap 21-14, 21-14.

Lu Chia-pin said in an interview that this competition is the first time his brother and he have teamed up in men's doubles, in which they made a few switches between playing offense and defense, which was a little tricky.

However, they were able to play to their strengths so the latest match went smoothly, he said.

Having now defeated both the U.S. duo and the Indian duo of Manu Attri and B. Sumeeth Reddy, the Lu brothers will face off against the U.K.'s Marcus Ellis and Chris Langridge Saturday U.S. time.

Lu Chia-hung said they have never played against the British duo or seen them play, but that they will try their best.

Lu Chia-hung is also competing in the men's singles final Saturday, against Canada's B.R. Sankeerth.
