Taiwanese tennis player heads to Shanghai Challenger final

Taipei, Sept. 16 (CNA) Taiwanese tennis player Lu Yen-hsun (盧彥勳) has advanced to Sunday's final of the US$75,000 ATP Shanghai Challenger after cruising past China's Zhang Ze (張擇) in the semifinals on Saturday.

The 34-year-old Lu, who has won 29 Challenger events during his long pro career and is currently ranked 62nd in the world, topped Zhang 6-1, 6-2 to advance to the title match against Wu Yibing (吳易昺) of China.

Neither Lu nor Wu has dropped a set in the tournament so far. Wu, ranked 496th in the world, reached the final by beating Germany's Matthias Bachinger 7-5, 7-5 on Saturday.
