EVA Air Marathon: Kenyan Ngare wins men's, Australia's Clark top woman

Taipei, Oct. 26 (CNA) Kenya's Joseph Mwangi Ngare won the men's title at the EVA Air Marathon in Taipei on Sunday, while Australia's Amelia Clark took the women's crown.

Ngare finished in 2 hours, 18 minutes and 12 seconds, while Clark clocked 2:47:25.

Ngare's compatriot Paul Ndungu Muchai won the men's half marathon in 1:07:11, while Taiwan's Chen Mei-tung (陳美彤) set a personal best of 1:22:00 to claim the women's title.

A 10-km race was also held, with Huang Wei-sheng (黃為勝) topping the men's category with 36 minutes and 44 seconds and Lin Chien-i (林千藝) winning the women's category with 45 minutes and 13 seconds.

Registration for the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS)-certified race opened in May and was closed within 24 hours after 24,000 runners from around the world signed up.
