Taichung, Feb. 1 (CNA) A man was hit by a train in Taichung City on Saturday afternoon after he walked into a restricted track area, leaving him in critical condition and disrupting seven train services.
The No. 120 Tze-Chiang limited express train operated by Taiwan Railways Corp. (TRC) collided with the man in the central Taiwanese city's Dajia District at 1:29 p.m., according to the Fire Bureau of the Taichung City government.
The collision left him unconscious with a deep head wound, abdominal contusions, and scratches on his limbs, the bureau said. He was later taken by ambulance to the Dajia branch of Kuang Tien General Hospital for emergency treatment.
The man, reportedly in his 30s, remains in critical condition, with his Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) score at 9 out of 15, indicating a moderate brain injury, the hospital said.

The precinct said it was still investigating why the man entered the restricted track area.
