ROAD SAFETY/New Taipei pedestrian's death sparks debate on elderly drivers

A fatal accident last month in which a taxi hit and killed a pedestrian on a crosswalk in New Taipei has raised questions as to whether the driver's age and impaired hearing could have played a role, or if it was simply another case of a driver failing to yield.
