Monthly child-rearing allowance raised to NT$5,000 from Aug. 1

The monthly child-rearing allowance for children aged 2 to under 5 in Taiwan was increased from NT$3,500 to NT$5,000 (US$169) starting Monday, a policy President Tsai Ing-wen (蔡英文) touted as part of her efforts to ease the burden on parents.
