Taipei, July 1 (CNA) The Civil Aviation Administration (CAA) announced Wednesday that passenger fuel surcharges on international flights operated by Taiwanese carriers will be lowered effective July 7 following a recent decline in aviation fuel prices.
Starting July 7, passenger fuel surcharges on international flights operated by Taiwanese carriers will be reduced to US$27.5 for short-haul flights and US$71.5 for long-haul flights, down from the current US$35 and US$91, respectively, according to a CAA news release.
Since 2005, passenger fuel surcharges have been adjusted based on the latest international aviation fuel prices announced by CPC Corp., Taiwan.
The adjustment reflects a recent decline in global oil prices as tensions stemming from the conflict in the Middle East have eased, reducing pressure on aviation fuel costs.
