AI Smart System + Direct Incheon Flights Hualien Tourism Services Enter a New Milestone
The Hualien County Government has officially launched the Hualien Travel Assistant (https://hualien.travel/ai-service), a 24-hour multilingual AI tourism platform designed to enhance real-time service accessibility for domestic and international travelers. Supporting most languages, the system provides instant information on attractions, transportation, weather, and itinerary planning, enabling visitors to navigate Hualien with greater convenience and flexibility.
Magistrate Hsu Chen-Wei noted that the system represents a key milestone in Hualien’s digital tourism development and significantly strengthens support for international arrivals, particularly as direct Incheon–Hualien flights commenced on November 13. Operated by Aero K Airlines every Thursday and Sunday, the route marks the first air connection in Northeast Asia directly linking to Taiwan’s east coast, shortening travel time to approximately 2 hours and 40 minutes.
Hsu emphasized that the service not only enhances inbound mobility but also deepens cultural and tourism exchange between Hualien and Korea. Through the expanded access provided by the Incheon route, travelers can now reach Hualien’s Pacific coastline more efficiently, discovering its iconic Taroko Gorge, East Rift Valley landscape, Pacific shoreline, and vibrant Indigenous culture.

Tourism Director Yu Ming-Shun added that the AI service will also support international tour operators in product planning. With future big-data insights, Hualien aims to better identify visitor needs and strengthen itinerary customization. Yu stressed that sustainable tourism remains a guiding priority, and Hualien will continue advancing global marketing so that international travelers can experience its hospitality, natural assets, and cultural richness firsthand.
The county has strengthened ties with Korea through promotional activities, industry briefings, and multiple FAM tours. These efforts have laid the groundwork for the Incheon route’s launch, further boosting Hualien’s profile in the Northeast Asian market. Hualien will continue adopting AI-supported services and international outreach to build a more visitor-friendly and digitally integrated destination.
