A magnitude 4.0 earthquake jolted southern Taiwan at 2:38 p.m. Monday and was felt at an intensity of 3 in Taoyuan District of Kaohsiung and 2 in Dapu Township in Chiayi County, according to the Central Weather Bureau (CWB).
