Taipei, June 27 (CNA) Military prosecutors are investigating an accident in which a military Humvee collided with a tank in southern Taiwan earlier in the day, leaving one solider dead and three suffering minor injuries, the Army said Wednesday.
While preparing to take part in a training procedure, the Humvee crashed into a tank at a military base in Tainan City, the Army said in a statement.
After the accident, three of the military personnel were sent to a hospital in neighboring Chiayi, the Army said, adding their condition remained stable.
Expressing sorrow over the incident, the Army said "it has launched a task force to work with military prosecutors in investigating the accident.”
The Army said that it will also strengthen education on traffic safety to prevent recurrence of similar accidents. It will help the family of the deceased solider to obtain compensation, it added.
