Taipei, June 21 (CNA) The Central Weather Bureau downgraded Tropical Storm Talim to a tropical depression early Thursday and lifted both sea and land warnings for Taiwan.
However, the bureau warned of heavy rainfall in areas south of Taichung due to strong southwesterly winds.
Chances remain high in central and southern Taiwan for flooding, mudslides and high seas before the weekend, the bureau said.
The depression, however, did not dump as much rain across Taiwan as expected, with Sioulin Township in eastern Taiwan's Hualien County topping the precipitation scale with some 80 mm of accumulated rainfall.
