Taipei, May 17 (CNA) Police arrested 19 people in raids Thursday on two groups suspected of drug dealing in Taipei area and Taoyuan County.
Acting on tip-offs received months ago, police launched two separate raids and seized a range of drugs and drug paraphernalia.
The drugs seized included Class A controlled substances such as heroin, Class B drugs such as amphetamines, and Class C substances like ketamine, police said.
One of the drug rings, led by a suspect surnamed Hsiao, was a supplier for gangs in the area, taking the drugs to certain clubs or Internet cafes, according to police.
The leader of the other group, a man surnamed Huang, was among those arrested, police said. They said the ringleader was delivering drugs by taxi to avoid being followed by police.
