Though President Ma Ying-jeou (馬英九) said Monday that he would not accept the Cabinet's resignation for now, Premier Mao Chi-kuo (毛治國) went through with his pledge to lead the Cabinet in resigning en masse later that day, according to Cabinet spokesman Sun Lih-chyun (孫立群).
