Hualien township cleans up after floods

Residents in Guangfu Township began to recover Wednesday morning from severe flooding that submerged the area a day earlier after the barrier lake at Matai’an Creek overflowed. Sludge removal vehicles rumbled through alleys and residents swept debris and scrubbed mud from their homes, hoping to put the disaster triggered by Typhoon Ragasa behind them.
