Breaking the silence: foreign nationals surviving domestic abuse in Taiwan

In Taiwan, many foreign spouses experiencing domestic violence remain in the shadows — silenced by the fear of losing their children and their right to stay. Although the law has evolved to offer greater protection and guarantee residency after a divorce, for many, the gap between policy and reality remains wide. This video follows the stories of three survivors from Vietnam, Indonesia, and China and their journey from trauma to resilience, and looks at the ongoing push by advocates for a system that provides real protections.
