Taipei, Feb. 1 (CNA) A migrant worker from Thailand who fell into a river in southern Taiwan on Jan. 29 was found dead on Saturday, according to the Pingtung Bureau of Fire and Emergency Services.
The 45-year-old Thai national and another migrant worker were attempting to cross from the Kaohsiung City side of the Gaoping River to go fishing on the Pingtung County side via a sediment storage dam when the man accidentally fell into the water, the bureau said.
A body, later identified as the Thai worker, was spotted by a drone at 9:33 a.m. on the fourth day of the search, the fire and emergency agency said.

When pulled to shore at 10:20 a.m., the body was found to show no signs of life, the bureau said, adding that the case has now been handed over to the police.
Sixteen vehicles, 36 rescue workers, three boats and six drones were deployed for the search that lasted four days, the bureau added.
