Taiwan to raise child care subsidies to boost birth rate: Premier

The government will raise child day care allowances by at least NT$1,500 (US$46.52) per month starting next year to try to boost Taiwan's shrinking birth rate, Premier Chen Chien-jen (陳建仁) said Monday.
