Vaccination recommended amid prevalence of HPV-related oropharyngeal cancer

As infection by the human papillomavirus (HPV) is an important risk factor for oropharyngeal cancer and HPV exists in the oropharynx of about 2 percent of healthy individuals in Taiwan, medical experts on Monday gave advice on ways for people to prevent HPV transmission, with a focus on getting vaccinated.
