Taiwan conducts amphibious landing defense, mine drills

Before dawn on day six of Taiwan’s Han Kuang exercises, the Army's First Combat Zone conducted a live-fire drill in which they defended Penghu against an amphibious enemy invasion. The previous night in Tainan, the Air Force's 1st Tactical Fighter Wing tested rapid recovery after a strike to ensure flight operations could quickly resume. Later on Monday, President Lai Ching-te inspected a domestically built fast minelayer boat during a naval defensive mining exercise, as the Navy loaded Wan Xiang I and Wan Xiang II naval mines onto a LCU-406 vessel using a crane.
