TSMC to raise MCU production to ease automotive chip shortage

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC), the world's largest contract chipmaker, said Friday it will increase its production of micro control units (MCUs) by 60 percent this year to help alleviate the global automotive chip shortage.
