Taipei, Sept.16 (CNA) Oysters can be found in many dishes around Taiwan, which boasts a warm climate and a clean natural environment suitable for oyster farming. In France, it takes about three years for oysters to mature, but it only takes one year in Taiwan, according to a recent video produced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to promote the country internationally. The entire southwest coast of Taiwan is home to many oyster farms, and the high production volume makes it possible for people to enjoy nutritious, inexpensive oyster dishes, according to the English-language video. Home-grown oysters can be found in many dishes in Taiwan, from high-end restaurants to local night markets, the video says. Oyster omelets are one of the most popular dishes, but there are other ways to enjoy the shellfish, including visiting oyster farms in southern Taiwan and tasting fresh oysters baked in their shells, the video shows.
