Taipei, Oct. 22 (CNA) Six Taiwanese productions will be screened at the 2025 Tokyo International Film Festival, including four feature films that will be highlighted during a program organized jointly with the Taiwan Cultural Center in Japan.

The program, titled "Taiwan Cinema Renaissance 2025 -- Diversity in Taiwanese Society," will be held Oct. 27 to Nov. 5, according to the event's website.

It will feature four films -- "The Waves Will Carry Us" (人生海海) by director Lau Kek-huat (廖克發), "Double Happiness" (雙囍) by director Joseph Hsu (許承傑), "April" (丟包阿公到我家) by director Freddy Tang (唐福睿), and the Golden Bell Award-winning "Crown Shyness" (樹冠羞避) by director Chang Chun-yu (張均瑜).

For "April" and "Double Happiness," it will be their world premiere.

The directors and main cast of the four featured films will attend the festival's opening ceremony, Taiwan's Ministry of Culture said in a press release Wednesday.

Taiwanese actress Gwei Lun-mei (桂綸鎂) is on the jury of the festival's Competition section.

Although there are no Taiwanese entries in the Competition this year, two Taiwanese short films have been selected for the Asian Students' Film Conference, namely "Ready! Serve! Smash!" (青春回擊的殺球), directed by Wang Hao-tai (王浩泰), and "Forever and a Day" (保密例外), directed by Chen Li-hsuan (陳莉璇).

In addition, a roundtable discussion titled "The Power of Women's Film Festivals" will be held on Nov. 3, featuring Taiwanese film festival curators Cho Ting-wu (卓庭伍), Hsieh I-hsuan (謝以萱) and Chen Huei-yin (陳慧穎), the ministry said.
