Taipei, Jan. 8 (CNA) A cold air mass from mainland China will reach Taiwan on Jan. 14, sending the mercury in the northern areas of the island plunging to as low as 13 degrees Celsius, the Central Weather Bureau (CWB) said Sunday.
The cold front will affect Taiwan Jan. 14 and 15, with temperatures dropping to lows of 13 degrees in the northern half of the country and 15 degrees in the southern half, the bureau said.
During that period, daytime highs will be 16-17 degrees in northeast Taiwan, 17-20 degrees in the central areas and Hualien County, and 19-22 degrees in the south and Taitung County, the bureau forecast.
