Taipei, May 20 (CNA) No casualties but several incidents of flooding were reported Tuesday in central Taiwan cities and counties amid intermittent torrential downpours, but one woman washed away in a flooded river in Nantou County the previous day remained unaccounted for.

Heavy rain triggered by convection cells continued to affect Taichung. Central Weather Bureau data showed that Houli District received 143.5 mm of precipitation throughout the day, while the volume of rainfall in Daan, Shengang, Qingshui, Dajia and Waipu districts all surpassed the 120 mm mark.

Flooding was reported in several road sections in the special municipality.

Meanwhile, Changhua and Nantou Counties had also received heavy rain on and off since the previous day.

The rain let up slightly in Nantou, where no major disasters were reported, although there were several reports of falling rocks and flooding.
