London, Nov. 15 (CNA) Two universities from Taiwan were included in the 2018 Global University Employability Ranking, with National Taiwan University (NTU) the highest ranked, according to the U.K.-based Times Higher Education (THE) Thursday.

A total of 150 universities worldwide were ranked in the annual survey, which reflects the opinions of human resources executives on which universities are best at ensuring students are prepared for the workplace.

NTU, which ranked 122nd in 2017, moved up to 101st spot this year, the survey showed.

National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST), which was the best performing university from Taiwan last year, dropped from 65th to 124th this year.

Meanwhile, National Tsing Hua University and National Chiao Tung University dropped out of the list of 150 universities this year, having ranked 136th and 144th, respectively, in 2017.

According to the annual survey, the world's top five universities by employability this year were Harvard University, followed by California Institute of Technology, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, University of Cambridge, and Stanford University.

Ranked from sixth to 10th were The Technical University of Munich, Princeton University, Yale University, The University of Tokyo, and National University of Singapore.

The survey was jointly conducted by THE and Emerging, a French human resources consultancy. It was based on the response of 7,000 human resource managers from multinational corporations.
