Taiwan voters decide fate of 24 KMT legislators in mass recall vote

Voting in a recall election targeting 24 legislators from the Kuomintang (KMT) -- Taiwan’s main opposition party -- began at 8 a.m. Saturday. The unprecedented recall campaign could reshape the makeup of the Legislature, where the two opposition parties currently hold a combined majority over the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP). A recall vote against suspended Hsinchu Mayor Ann Kao is also being held on the same day.
