Taiwan steps up the fight against COVID-19

Despite the close proximity to the mainland China, and frequent flights to many Chinese destinations, Taiwan responded quickly when an then little-known new coronavirus disease outbreak took place in central China. Since the end of the December, Taiwan has introduced a series of measures to tackle the disease later named as Covid-19, such as tightening border control and enhanced health screening of anyone entering the country. As the pandemic ravages across the world, the island has only seen a relatively low number of confirmed cases.
