Taipei, Feb. 28 (CNA) Taiwanese tennis ace Hsieh Su-wei (謝淑薇) and her partner Barbora Strycova of the Czech Republic overcame their opponents Thursday to advance to the women's doubles final at the Qatar Total Open in Doha.

Hsieh and Strycova got off to a good start at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex, winning the first set 6-4.

However, Czech players Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova bounced back, taking the second set 6-4.

In the third set, Hsieh and Strycova rallied from a 7-3 deficit in a match tiebreak to score a 12-10 victory over No.4 seeds Krejcikova and Siniakova.

The Taiwanese-Czech pair, who defended their title at the Dubai Tennis Championships last Saturday, will next face Canadian Gabriela Dabrowski and Latvian Jelena Ostapenko in the Qatar final Friday evening.

The Qatar Total Open is a Premier tournament on the 2020 Women's Tennis Association (WTA) Tour and is being held until Saturday.
