Ko Wen-je to head party institute in TPP leadership reshuffle

Taipei, Jan. 28 (CNA) The Taiwan People's Party (TPP) on Wednesday announced a new round of senior personnel appointments, naming party founder Ko Wen-je (柯文哲) as head of the party's Institute of National Governance and confirming that party chair Huang Kuo-chang (黃國昌) will concurrently serve as chair of the policy committee.

According to Huang's remarks in a TPP news release, Ko will lead courses on national governance and candidate training programs, which are intended to "strengthen the party's national governance talent" and expand its connections with society.

Huang cited Ko's experience in Taipei mayoral elections and the 2024 presidential election as a key asset for training programs.

The raft of new appointments was announced at a TPP central committee meeting, according to the news release.

The list includes Keelung City Deputy Mayor Chiu Pey-lin (邱佩琳) as a designated central committee member and legislator-elect Hsu Chung-hsin (許忠信) as deputy chair of the policy committee.

Acting deputy secretary-generals Bob Hsieh (謝泊泓) and Huang Cheng-chun (黃成峻) will serve as administration group deputy secretary-general and organization group deputy secretary-general, respectively.

Publicity and Creative Media Department Director Lee Ting-li (李頂立) will act as publicity group deputy secretary-general.

Party spokesperson Chang Tung (張彤) will act as director of the News and Information Department, while Department of Foreign Affairs deputy director Renno Liao (廖偉宏) will serve as acting department director.

Tseng Ting-wen (曾鼎文) will take over as director of the Department of Social Development, and Li Chia-wen (李嘉雯) will assume the post of director of the Department of Organizational Development.
