Twenty-eight Chinese military aircraft crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait in the 24 hours starting at 6 a.m. on Thursday, with an unspecified number flying as close as 40 nautical miles (74.08 kilometers) to Keelung in northern Taiwan.
