Nearly 9.62 million 'yes' votes needed for voting age referendum to pass

A proposed constitution amendment to lower the voting age in the Republic of China (the official name of Taiwan), from 20 to 18 requires the backing of nearly 9.62 million voters to pass in a national referendum to be held on Saturday, the Central Election Commission (CEC) said Tuesday.
