Mazu procession in Texas

Young people in Houston, Texas hold the palanquin carrying a statue of sea goddess Mazu brought from Beigang Chaotian Temple in Taiwan's Yunlin County during her first visit to the American city on May 19. The sea goddess arrived in New York Tuesday for a six-day stay in the city, which will conclude at the "Passport to Taiwan" festival in Manhattan's Union Square on May 26.
