MediaTek falls one notch in global IC designer rankings to 5th in Q2

Taiwan-based smartphone IC designer MediaTek Inc. was ranked in the second quarter of the year as the world's fifth largest IC design house, falling one spot from a year earlier, amid growing inventories and weakening global demand, according to the Taipei-based market information advisory firm TrendForce Corp.
