U.S. dollar closes higher on Taipei forex (update)

The U.S. dollar rose against the Taiwan dollar Thursday, gaining NT$0.076 to close at NT$30.208, as traders took cues from the weakness of other regional currencies to buy into the U.S. currency, dealers said.
