Taiwan aims to build satellite launchers
Space has become a multi-billion dollar business. There's growing demand for launching commercial satellites into orbit to do everything from providing Internet communication and GPS services to conducting scientific research. There are only a handful of companies offering commercial space services and Taiwan – already a high-tech powerhouse – is racing to be the next one. But while it has the ability to build satellites, it needs to build rockets to launch them so that it won't have to pay other companies like SpaceX to do so. A group of professors and students are hoping to help Taiwan build its first commercial satellite launcher.
